How to handle women part II

In the cold winter days I tend to have plenty of tea, coffee and everything liquid, that can warm you up. Since I am pretty talkative I like to do it in company. Friendly company. So, I sat down with sort of a friend of mine. Sort of, because we see each other so rarely, however, we have managed to bare with our atypical relationship for years. She mentioned something has happened to her and she needed someone to talk to, hence the tea time in the city centre.

Recently she has been thinking about sleeping with her long time friend. She knew him for years, fancied him even longer and that was that. The feeling turned out to be mutual, yet they have remained just friends. Until very recently. The passion went through the roof and there was no way to resist the inevitable... I almost didn't dare to ask how was it. Almost. Her expression made me think in was Amazing with a capital A. Her nod confirmed it. So, what went wrong that a drink with me was in total need...? He didn't call, didn't text.
Oh...! I forgot to mention. She has someone. A boyfriend. A boyfriend that's not her longtime friend she was banging. But that doesn't change the post-sex protocol, that every man should know. No matter if you're rolling in the hay with married, single or just boyfriend-ized woman.

Lesson no. 1

Check how she is. Especially if she has a boyfriend and you have known her since you were practically kids. She will need support. She has just done a horrible thing (the cheating part, I mean) and she has poor sleep quality, let alone quantity. Just send the f*** message. Take her to a coffee. I believe there are not many people she can talk about this precise night. Yes? Yes.
That goes also for single women. Just let her know you are thinking about her. Unless it was a one-night stand and you don't even know her name. Or she doesn't know yours. And you don't have each other's numbers. Emails. Whatever.

Lesson no. 2

From what I heard, if the sex is amazing, you will probably try to repeat the deed regardless the immoral taste it left behind. If the feeling was mutual, you should let her know. And plan ahead. The kinky part.
If the feeling wasn't mutual... Well, that's where you start ignoring her. And that can have consequences on the friendship. At least for a while. Mending it is difficult and time consuming. However, possible.

After re-reading these paragraphs, I have realized I am pretty immoral. No lectures about being a cheating girlfriend, no sermon, no nothing. Well, I am not the one to judge. We will have to leave that for other occasions.

A quick guide or how to handle women

Recently I had a very pleasant drink with my ex-schoolmate. Not only is he incredible good-looking, he is also smart and fun to talk to (yes, I hope he reads this). Every now and then we grab a drink together and talk about, well, everything.
As the chitchat went on on this particular evening, the subject shifted to another level... Relationships, former, ongoing, men, women, sex and women again. More precisely what women want and why men can't understand them. This has been already discussed several times, mostly in books (Men are from Mars, women are from Venus has some good points, though), movies, TV shows... And no one seems to know the solution to the equation.
Now, back to the story... I must admit, I felt kind of special, because he has chosen me to talk to about that and even more special because he needed an advice. There was something in it for me, too... I got  my blog idea (he agreed I can use it) :)

We talked about handling women. About having a guide to women's unexplainable behavior that no one can understand, even women occasionally (please, refer to the picture on the left... it might explain a lot).

Why are we interested in a guy, and than suddenly not anymore? I was thinking about it a lot... Women fall for another interesting man in short time, I guess, nevertheless, it seems men are pretty much the same regarding that.
When women feel up to it, just grab a chance. It might disappear quickly, as we tend to change our minds frequently (just look at our hair, nails, style... hey, even the last name, though that's a bit trickier lately).

I find it difficult to speak for whole gender in general. From my experience and umpteen hours of conversing with ladies, I can summarize it with this: be bold. No, not bald, that's not very appealing, although with age it seems that's not a deal breaker anymore. Why not taking risks? The worse thing that can happen is a no. And no is already there from the beginning. If you don't approach is a no, since there was no chance to become a yes. How many time have we received no in life? How many are yet to come? No one's ever lost life because of a rejection (ok, I can think of silly examples, but that's not the point), just a bit of dignity, and that heals in time eventually.
I am a fan of Katy B, so the easiest thing to do is to listen this song, which in my opinion grasps the basics of what women want. Of course, until there are days like "I don't know".

Good luck and good night.

How bigamy can be perceived as monogamy or what is bigamous monogamy

After an indulging summer pause, I had a trip down memory lane, eagerly searching for interesting happenings I could write about. It seemed nothing was suitable for sharing. At least from my life. No deviant behavior whatsoever. Hence, no material for blogging. There was a sudden need to dig deeper. Into my friends' lives. Luckily, many of them have stories. Kinky ones. And definitely worth reading about.

We all have heard or even done the two men/women relationship. The parties involved don't know about each other, perhaps you tell a friend or, better yet, wait until it's all over, before you spill it out. Guilty as charged. It's a classic case of bigamy. Old as the human race itself (or at least as old as the invention of airplanes - bigamy always reminds me of pilots. Dunno why).
Lately, however, I've begun to notice a new dating sensation: bigamous monogamy. Confused? Well, allow me to explain...

Shift Relationship

One of my friends has had a boyfriend for years. That is, years, if you don't count all the break-ups in between that could occur even on weekly basis. It was by far the strangest relationship I have ever seen with a certain pattern. It nearly had a life of its own. Sometimes, when these pauses lasted for a longer period, the friend was partying wildly and as a consequence she made a lot of new acquaintances. In time, one special acquaintance resulted in a new found new boyfriend. So far, everything is going according to the standard track, however, make no mistake - she kept returning to her previous man all the time. The second player stood somewhere in the middle, hopping in and out of her life coordinated to her relationship with the first player.
The most amazing thing in this alterationship (alternative relationship) is the awareness. The second knew about the first all the time, the first learned about the second in time and she... She was conducting this orchestra as if this was the most normal thing to do. How inspiring.
Just to make things clear, let me repeat. When she broke up with the first, she was dating the second, and when the things with the first cooled down, she switched back to him and turned off the second. I hope it is self-evident than none of the boys were aloud to have other women. When they did (this is self-evident, too, I hope), she put on a crazy woman attitude, screamed, dramatized, cried, fought and swapped between them constantly.

This codependent, coexisting bigamous monogamy is lasting for years now. Nothing has changed, apart from their age. Maturity is still in question, to be honest, for all people involved.

If it were up to me, I'd chosen the second one. It would take years to explain why, so I guess, you'll just have to trust me on this one.

Old dicks, new tricks

Gosh, how I love creative weekends... And by creative I mean spending time with my girlfriends. This time it was the seaside. Although there was a lot of sleeping (just plain sleeping - the old-fashioned way, no bed hopping or anything promiscuous), some intriguing conversations were involved. Among us mostly, but that doesn't mean there's nothing new to add or, better yet, learn.

I always thought male equipment is divided to short, long, circumcised, uncircumcised, too big for hand-grab, too small for hand-grab and just right for hand-grab. Well, it came to my knowledge that there is much more behind this simple math that I've been living by for many many years.
Just to mention few, let me start with the worst kind. Cone-shaped dick. Apparently I can be extremely happy not to have encountered one on my journey of penis stories. According to my secret information source (perhaps penis moles?) cone-shaped dicks are a punishment for women. Physically and mentally (the latter because it takes much pretending to enjoy the activity). After first closer confrontation with the monster there is only one thing to do. And one thing only. To avoid the second rendezvous. My friend simply didn't answer the phone. For many times. It seems that the cone-shaped dick licked... ups, liked her, though.

Momentarily, mushroom season is off the topic, however, there's a certain type of mushrooms we need to mention. Again, I have no idea, what were they talking about, nonetheless, my penis moles didn't really approve mushroom type of penis. The head is oversized for the rest of it, so after first exciting seconds, inevitable disappointment follows. Waiting for something to happen... no. No proper action whatsoever.

Have you heard of a perfect penis? My friend's new boyfriend is in possession of a sample, as reported by the lady in question. Why do I know that? Simply because she is yapping about it constantly. When I hear the phrase Have I told you about his perfect dick? the hair on my neck stand up. Yes, she repeated it so many times that even grandmothers on the bus have heard the rumor, probably. Nevertheless, such jewels evidently exist. And girls love them. Boy, do they love them.

And now, last but not least, circumcised ones, or cabriolet, as we like to call them. I think I don't stand alone, if I name the group interesting. Geographically they are pretty rare in our European area, but I would give them thumbs up. Other ladies who have tested that kind of an instrument would more or less agree on the matter.

So, what's your favorite shape? Something to think and dream about...

Revolutionary breakthrough or how to up-sex yourself

Year 2010 seemed to be a disaster for many relationships. At least - so they say - in numerological terms. Also, 2011 and 2012 (I am not sure if numerology is to blame for that, too). So, how it all started...
Apparently with boring sex life. Or no sex life at all.

I have a friend, thirty-something woman. She has been in a marriage like relationship with a year or two younger man for many many years. As we became very close friends over the years, the truth about her sex life came round. Not a typical story for a hot (she is REALLY hot) woman and an attractive man. The only thing their sheets were used for was sleeping. And I mean tight good night sleeping. Solely. It turned out he has not been interested in her for years. Naked breasts in the morning pressed against his back, rubbing, touching... nothing! No reaction whatsoever.

Other things were going in a normal way, whatever that means for different kinds of people...

Then, something and someone got in her way. No, we're not getting straight to it just yet... He was a business associate and an obvious friend to be. Occasional drink, dinner from time to time and lovely chitchats. Life was beautiful and suddenly interesting - again.
Arrival of a confession of an attraction could be smelled from a distance. The predicted complication happened. She was utterly against any kind of duplicity. However, every action has a reaction and this one came to be a very impulsive one. Yes. The sex begins here. A very nasty sweaty head-knocking-up-against-the-headboard sex. Ah. Finally. She was alive!

So, she was alive several times a day sometimes, alive in the car, on the way to work, in a hotel, on a romantic weekend away, even while actually feeling the earthquake - no, not an orgasm, a real earthquake, although it seemed to be only in the her head.

These days she is getting informative texts about his erections then an there only by thinking about her. Supported by pictures from time to time. Even I am completely satisfied since there is something to write about. At last!

Everybody's happy.

Lesson? It is not a lie that women in their thirties are animalistic in bed. Oh, what is yet to come for some of us...

P.S. What happend to her boyfriend? I haven't heard of him for a while now...

Weekend gone wild

Interruption no. 1

You’ve heard about it, perhaps you’ve even tasted it. I am talking about a perfect relaxing weekend. No strings attached. Only plenty of sun and nothing to do but indulge yourself in little treats. This weekend is drastically standing out of the sea of rainy metallic weekends followed one by one in April and even May. In this story you are sipping your very late early morning coffee and nibbling a fresh croissant. La dolce vita in the twenty-first century. As if this peaceful perfection wasn’t enough, you see a man in the distance. A very well looking man, indeed. As he’s approaching closer, a familiar shiver runs thorough your body. It feels like you have met him before. Yes. You have met him before, indeed. A romance gone bad on two feet.

It ended childishly. With phone calls in the middle of the night and pretense the next day about nonexistence of the call. Of course, you weren’t the one making that call. However, you were the one who left the battlefield with a strong unpleasant taste that you had liked the idea of a relationship more than he did. It doesn’t matter. He made that silly phone call. Not you. You won in a way. Or that’s what ladies like to think.
As all that memories briskly flash through your thoughts, you don’t even notice he’s gone. Went in his direction. Did not see you. What? Again, true woman kicks in and you wish he had seen you. But who needs racing heart and destruction of a perfect moment? So, you rather go back to indulging yourself. You take a stroll down the river and you check the new antiques on a market next to it. Funky thoughts have vanished.

Interruption no. 2

Walking slowly to yet another bar. You feel like grabbing a cake. A splurging chocolate one. Mmm... your favorite place is waiting. Even the right waiter is in the shift. Then, you see him. Another him. A crush not so recently forgotten. Choosing a distant table with a pretty view on his pretty smile sounds like a good idea. A dinner and a show, only it’s a cake and a smile.

Interruption no. 3

As the day starts to transform into the night, it’s time to drive home and get ready for the evening life. Whatever city can offer. Nothing can surprise you anymore, since you’ve seen it all today. La-la-la-la... the radio plays one of your favorite oldies. Red traffic light. You pause. Green. Turning right. Waiting for the pedestrians. And bikes. Hm. What? Him again? The first him from the tale.
Help. A man down. You dreamt occasionally about running him over. With his stupid I didn’t make that phone call (it was his friend, the rumor has it). No, he is still standing. Well, riding a bike, more precisely. Perhaps you’ll land on top of him in some other movie. Wait. You already have.
What’s going on with some days? You just keep running into specific people listed in specific groups according to your past. It reminds me of a parade of failed romance, complicated crushes and disappointing flirtations.
Man. What a weekend!

Single or no-mingle situation...?

Have you ever wondered why do we always desire what is not in our possession? Yes? No? Whatever your answer is, I am thinking about it now. Perhaps this is more a woman’s matter, since we tend to be more unsatisfied with biological choices designed before our birth. Like the thing on our head, for example (yes, I mean hair). If you have short, you’d like it to be longer; if it’s long, you’re thinking about shorter. And don’t get me started with the color.
By the way, what do men talk about? What are they doing while manly hanging around? Drinking beer and jerking off in groups? Ok, I’m off the track again. Back. Back!
Body shape. If you’re curvy, you’d like to be thin and if you’re boobless you think Pamela Anderson (no, no, no... please, something more tasteful).
While having my mind on this subject, I’ve noticed that similar projection could be made for relationships. The singles envy couples their coupled lives and the couples envy them their freedom. Funny. If there’s some higher form of intelligence in the Universe, it’s probably having fun looking at the human race. No wonder. We are hilariously ridiculous in some way, indeed.
Why not just be fine with it?
Where are you now? No, I don’t mean where are you sitting momentarily. Try understanding this in more metaphorically. How did you come here? You’ve probably worked for it hard (if someone is reading this while imprisoned, em...this is not what I’m aiming at). Having a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner/husband/wife was a plan you wanted to achieve at some point. Arranged marriages are probably not in this group, although I read somewhere that they are working just fine. Even better than those designed the western way. Anyway, if we slowly return to the not being single part. You got what you planed. Why not celebrate it instead of looking the other way?
Changing sides or simply changing partners
A prominent part of my friends changed their status or switched their partner. I’ll focus on the first. Going from relationship to single. I believe this sounds very appealing, when you think about it superficially. You can essentially do anything. Invite Adam Levine to your place in the middle of the night to have hot sweaty sex (yes, that is very reasonable. Especially in Slovenia you can meet him on the street on a daily basis. Not.); invite your newly made friends from the street to play hide and seek while being naked and dipped in Nutella bath (another reasonable idea)... Are you getting me? What the hell do you think your singleness can do that you cannot do if you’re in a relationship?
Ok, if I meet Adam Levine and if he’ll be interested, I will not reconsider it twice. My boyfriend knows that.
Hopefully, the message is clearly visible in this story. No matter how tall dark and handsome, how blue-eyed, how gorgeous apartment and how nice it might feel kissing his perfectly shaped nose... You chose your boyfriend with a reason.
In the end they all get bald, fat and senile. Grumpy old men. That fart in their sleep.
But you’ll remember the days you were young.
Still, is it worthy for a few memories? Yes. I guess the dying alone part and eternal loneliness is a strong reminder.
xoxo

Pick up lines part II or how you haven’t learned much

It’s been only month and a half, but here we are again facing communication issues among men and women (we knew about the existence of the problem before my era, I’m sure...). Apparently, first lesson was not well comprehended and we all need a repetition. These following stories are very much real, again. Unfortunately, again. However, witty. Mostly, I hope. Some are very fresh, straight from the bakery, as for others... Well, I couldn’t reveal all at once, could I?

Oh, the smell of another person...

A newly red-headed friend of mine attended quite famous marketing event (quite famous for Slovenian borders, that is). I guess meeting hot people on such occasions is relatively normal. A good looking guy approached my friend, still blond at the time (I am not making any suggestions about her intellect. She is very bright).
Him: Mmm, you smell nice. I like your perfume. My girlfriend has one alike.
Her: Thanks.
Him: Let’s go to my room.
Ok. I’ve heard pro and con discussions are popular nowadays, therefore I’ll try to jump on the bandwagon. Pros: compliment and honesty. Con: the girlfriend part was not in good correlation with the last sentence.
Case closed.

Feather in his pants

Direct approach can be like a fresh breeze on a hot Sunday afternoon. As long as it’s not too fresh. Like a hurricane, for example. Let’s learn a thing or two on an example.
One girlfriend was visiting her foreign boyfriend. They (pronoun stands for a group, not just  two of them) went out partying. Another foreign man made a pass at her. A very unusual one. While words you’re so beautiful were flying out of his mouth, he came very very close... so close that he actually started to unzip her jeans. Em, any comments?
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.

And another thing...

Try to steer clear of drunken boys. They are spitting while talking and truthfully, you can’t understand a thing they’re saying. It’s more or less like Sean Paul’s lyrics. You hear the sound but that’s about it.
Finally, I’d like to make an invitation. Not to be discriminating. I’d like to encourage boys to tell me some of their experience with awkwardly invented pick up lines and funky deeds. I’m sure we’re not that smart as we like to think... Because I know about my mistakes. And trust me, they’re kind of embarrassing.

Going international or how different we really are

I’ve just met a woman, who has had a decent number of international relationships. You probably know that story about discovering together with your “new friend” how many acquaintances in common you actually have. No? Then you come from a bigger country than I do. In my hometown conversing to each other usually brings us to conclusion about the relative size of the World and this chitchat was no exception. It turned out I was about to go to a wedding, where one of her ex-boyfriends is among the invitees.
Since several top secret information have been revealed on that very day (about ex-boyfriends, gay friends, straight friends, old friends), I feel a strong urge to explain that it was a Friday afternoon and polite after work tea turned into a drinking competition. Later it came to my knowledge, that I won. Whatever. Anyway, let’s return to the story...

The kind of behavior that invented therapists...

A tall handsome dark man (yes, I’ve seen him on the wedding. He scored quite high on the “looks” scale) from another part of the Globe had several issues. At the moment I am struggling with my flashing brain where to start a story: his strange relationship with a plastic fantastic mother, his love to a special piece of cloth (more precisely, a blanket or in his words “blanky” - yes, it even had a pet name. Trust me, you do not want to know since when this invisible connection between him and his “blanky” existed. Ok, I am lying. You simply HAVE to know: since very early age of his life - when he was circumcised) or his narcissistic alliance with himself (the rumor has it, he keeps a book - sort of an album about him, so when he’s feeling down, he can go to a secret shelter and flip through the book. Evidently, I am so passé - chocolate is still my mood booster). I guess I have narrated the story despite my chaotic brain situation. Hopefully it was clear enough to grasp the core: the boy has issues. Clearly. Some sort of therapy could and should be suggested, however, who am I to judge. Let’s move on...

Being eco or is eco just an excuse?

In October 2011 I had a traveling spree. In Europe. Mostly two-hour flights from home. I met some friends to be, or - how I like to call them - candidates for future foreign friends. Even before I came to one of the European countries I had heard gossip about their supposedly stinginess. You can’t make any assumptions according to rumors, so, honestly, I had completely forgotten about it. Then I had met this non-native guy, who had a native boyfriend. Once upon a time they were grocery shopping. Something to eat when your not in a cooking mood. Something to put in the microwave when you come home. Something just around the corner.
The non-native guy expected they’ll go immediately to their crib and prepare this high calorie meal in an American movie style (you know, when the character puts frozen food in the microwave and talks on the phone while doing it). For they had been just around the corner. Well, wrong.
The man in the shop offered to microwave the meal for them and the native guy agreed. Myself, the non-native guy and you are probably asking why??? It’s just around the corner! However, there was been a reason. The native guy decided to save some energy. Eco friendly of simply stingy?

All different = all equal

There are definitely good reasons to be so diverse. Embrace it. And make fun of it. You know what they say... Laughter has many health benefits :)

Once upon a time or what happened to the happy endings

In a world where you can have everything, possessing exactly that became of huge importance. Traveling, working or studying abroad, owning a car, an apartment, fancy gadgets...
If you’re not happy with someone for 5 minutes, there’s no time to lose, for life is short - we’ve all heard rumors about it. Surely, you are obliged by natural law to be joyful all the time, so you ditch the person and move on. Been there, done that (I guess I can check that off my bucket list). Seriously? Sadly, yes.

That is not very mature, you might think and I will have to agree, though reluctantly. I couldn’t help myself but think more about the topic, and so I started to wonder what had happened to “till death do us part” or “and they lived happily ever after”?

Where did all our happy endings go?!?!

Meet Storybrook... Place where happily ever after lost its way

According to the new TV series I’ve started to follow, Once upon a time, the Evil Queen with origins from the Show White, enchanted all storybook characters with a vicious magical spell and prevented them from having their happy endings. She forced them to lead boring lives in our time. Desperate, dull and most importantly era with no optimism. If you look at the statistics, the plot is not that far from the truth. Rising numbers of divorces and separations speak for itself. Being in a relationship with only one person till the rest of your life? It does sound like a buzz killer. You can’t eat potato every day, right?
This time I started a quest, a wicked search of a perfect long-lasting ever so faithful couple that would prove me wrong. I am still a bit vague on the criteria of an immaculate duo, but it’s in my genes to recognize flawless brand. I’ve listed all my friends, their friends, Facebook friends, my acquaintances, colleagues and... I found them!
She was a business woman gone Martha Stewart (without the prison part), he was a doctor without borders and by the age of thirty they had 3 children, a downtown apartment and a big house by the sea.

:)

Yeah, right... Just kidding.
I had to create a bit of suspense, otherwise a narrative story wouldn’t be a very good one.
Perfection... The person who invented it had to be a very old, difficult to handle, miserable character. Perfection is not interesting and most of all it is very changeable depending from whom are you talking to. Regarding this subject I dare to say that happy endings do exist, but are versatile. Even if you are planning a life with one and only (wo)man, interesting future can be ahead of you (some parents do give a great example).
So, perhaps you can eat a potato every day... All you need is a touch of imagination in form of seasoning (potato and rosemary blend really well).
Snow White, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood and the rest of the Once upon a time team certainly new the secret recipe.
P.S. Hopefully the topic wasn’t misleading... It’s relatively obvious I didn’t have in mind Thai massages.

Hormones going crazy or how no one is immune to a springtime lobotomy

This year’s spring started a bit early. Nothing to complain about, actually... We were freshly introduced to this big yellow ball in the sky (where I come from foggy days are kind of traditional, so we tend to forget what the sun really looks like) and the rising temperatures allowed us to uncover some skin. Suddenly I am loving these tan lines we can choose from: biker’s, farmer’s, tennis...
As I was walking my sister’s dog, who is naturally going all crazy due to hormonal cocktails released in the air by the other dogs, I started to wonder about human hormones that make us go cuckoo. The spring version of them, of course. Honestly, it seems that not only flowers, trees and dogs are affected by the sun, but also men and women. No matter how hard you try to be sober, eventually you give in.
Sometimes I like to look on things from a scientific point of view, so I would say this is one of many proofs confirming our animalistic nature. Apparently we feel the influence of the hormones, but can we smell them? I suppose that’s a bit too strong word for it. Perhaps just sense them? Taking into account generalized change in behavioral pattern, I’d say yes. And, how are we actually affected?
The age of innocence or how to switch in a successful way
A few years ago an acquaintance of mine felt eager to discuss a thrilling secret about a progress in her love life. She caught us a bit off guard while sharing that exact piece of information since it turned out that her boyfriend was not involved in the mentioned development. She was having an affair. And, as if the situation wasn’t complicated enough, the other person was her... khm, superior. The following events were, I guess, pretty movie-like. Hiding in the bushes (ok, much more sophisticated version of “the bushes” happened in the reality, however, I think I can allow myself some writing imagination), midnight calls, in middle of the night visits, sex in public places... I got your attention now, huh?
You’d be probably surprised to know, that eventually she had left her boyfriend and know she’s coupling with the other guy. I am not sure if he remained her superior, but truthfully, who cares. I only wonder if the pattern will repeat again - for, you know, this was not a first time for her... leaving a boyfriend for another man.
Lots of pride, but no prejudice
One other sort of a friend has had a boyfriend for years. Years. I’ve been always wondering - in a negative way - how did they find each other... Honestly, in my eyes, they were the most boring couple that has ever existed. No imagination. No fun. No spark. No nothing. She was having monastery appearance all the time, as for him, words cannot describe such dullness, so I won’t even try. Surprise of all surprises, as it turned out, a nun she never was... she pulled that particular look off very well.
Once upon a time in a springtime, of course, we have attended a party together. Lost of drinks, lots of talking and lots of secret-sharing. She “slipped” a few details about her relationship. Quite boastfully she announced her tiny little affairs then and there. Pride? Yes. Prejudice? No.
So, what’s the lesson in it? Frankly, I have no idea. Perhaps the best thing to do is to shut your chatty mouth and live your life. Even if it’s springtime.
A dear friend of mine lost his dog due to old age. This post has been written in his memory. Gizmo, you are highly missed*

Decisions decisions or splitting the bill - a new etiquette of courtship

We live in a time where there are some difficulties with decisions. From the most simple ones, such as “Should I buy another pair of shoes?” to the most complicated occuring as a rule in the morning: “What to wear?!?” I am sure the answer to the first question is logical... (YES!) As for the other... it’s a bit trickier.
I would really like to present a certain issue. Or, better yet, let us be positively oriented and call it a challenge. So much better. I am sure some employers would love me. Seeing challenges instead of problems. Now, back to the topic...
Since we live in capitalism it would be so unfair to shut our eyes wide about the popular phrase cruising the world about some ladies: gold digging whore. My sincere appologies for the strong language. The phrase spread the wings over the globe so much, that a not-meant-to-be-harmful coffee that I am not paying for, became an enemy. So, where is the line?

Should we expect of a man to take care of the bill?

If in France, yes. Or so I heard - from my French teacher. According to him women in France don’t even leave the house with a wallet. Supposedly it’s normal for French men to take care of the finance while going out. I’ve never experienced that. While being in France, of course. Perhaps I went to Paris with a wrong crowd. They were obviously not French.

Acting coy

Some men like to think their bank account displays a 7-digit number and bumping into one of them on the street always results in many drinks paid by the imaginary millionaire. I play along. And never grab my wallet. If he wants to keep appearances, so let it be. I usually end up being drunk, you?

50 - 50 option

An acquaintance of mine used to date men that were quite well off. And they were more than willing to contribute for her atributes. With gifts, dinners and all the things that come along with playing a sugar daddy role. Until she met someone. Someone she actually liked. Spending time on the seaside is something you usually do with a boyfriend and so they did. He took care of the money issue without exceptions. Heavenly, I would dare to say.
You have probably heard of the following saying, no, I am 100% you have: there’s no such a thing as free lunch. And while talking about percentage, I might also mention that the settlement arrived. On the last day. On a sheet of paper. With listed expenses. From a previous week. Split up. Half-half. 50%-50%.
She had no idea this little vacation was a down payment for the bill that was yet to come. She paid for it. Fair and square.

Taking turns

The topic speaks for itself. My turn, your turn, my turn, your turn... This pattern mostly works with my lady friends. Not for all, of course. Some can’t remember their turn. Ever.

Depending from initiator

I like to follow this simple rule: if on a date (or just a coffee), and the invitation was my idea, I would like to pay for a drink, food, whatever. However, the final result depends from the person on the other side. It can be 50-50 or zero for me. Sometimes I might “argue”, knowing that I will not have any success. For some men are gentlemen. No matter what.

Photography was taken by a good friend of mine while waiting for another friend to arrive and grab a coffee. Thanks.
